small scale technology certificates (STCs)
STCs are a tradable commodity attached to eligible installations of renewable energy systems (including solar panels, solar water heaters and heat pumps). The number of STCs allocated to a solar system depends on the size of the system and the state the system is being installed in.
These STC’s are then sold from the solar system owner to the installer for the current market rate. This then reduces the out of pocket expenditure the customer pays upfront for their system.
small scale renewable energy scheme
This scheme (commonly known as the solar incentive) is provided in the form of Small-scale Technology Certificates.
how much rebate will I get on my new solar system?
Under the Australian Government's Renewable Energy Target legislation, a solar system can qualify for a number of credits in the form of STCs. These STCs have a cash value and can be used to pay for some of the installation costs.
The value depends on a number of factors, including:
-
The size of your system
-
Where you live
-
The current market value of STCs
We will be able to calculate this for you during a site inspection and we will also be able to recommend the best system for the maximum incentive. The value of the STCs will then be deducted from the price of the installation.
Solar Victoria Solar Homes Rebate
Along with the Federal STC Rebate, the Victorian State Government currently is subsidising part of the cost of residential installations throughout Victoria for a limited number of households. For elibible applicants, this subsidy is 50% of the total cost with a maximum value of $1,400.00 for solar systems and $2,950 for battery systems.
We can help you determine your eligibility and provide you with the relevant documentation to claim this incentive.
